What Is an Intensive Outpatient Program?
The advantage of outpatient treatment is flexibility. Your teenager is free to sleep in their own bed at night and attend to some school and work obligations, depending on the nature of their treatment plan. The structured, therapeutic activities of the IOP are designed to address the root causes of your teenager’s mental health disorder and any co-occurring conditions, such as substance abuse or addiction.
A letter of medical necessity is provided to the teenager’s school, excusing them from class, and academic tutoring is offered onsite to ensure that they do not fall behind in classes. We believe in treating the whole person and ensuring that all clients get the support they need.
What Does Our Teen IOP Require?
Clear Recovery Center’s Teen IOP meets three days a week, three hours a day, where your teenager will participate in a variety of groups related to the following:
- Process and emotional regulation
- Coping skills
- Anxiety/depression management
- Goal setting
In addition, your teen will participate in experiential groups such as art, music, acting, mindfulness, and writing.
Each client meets with their individual therapist and their individual case manager once per week. Families will receive a weekly phone call with an update on their child’s progress from the case manager.
